Harm Reduction Navigator
Under the direction of the Coastal Recovery Community Center’s (CRCC) Board, the Harm Reduction Navigator is responsible for harm reduction outreach and strategies, enhancing the CRCC voice through various channels, and attending community meetings and events.
The position is funded from the Maine Recovery Council’s Opioid Settlement Disbursement, non-exempt, and ends Dec 31, 2026.
Job Brief
We are looking for a knowledgeable person to help CRCC expand our image in ways that promote CRCC‘s values, mission, and goals. You’ll be responsible for collaborating with other organizations and sharing what makes up CRCC. This position will be responsible for providing monthly operational reports to the CRCC board.
We’ll be on the lookout for a person with a compassionate personality who has experience in community relations and communications. The best fit for the job will be a person who has a general understanding of the ongoing process of recovery and the positive influences harm reduction can have on an individual.
The goal is to maintain positive public awareness of CRCC, reduce stigma, and help people on their path of recovery and personal wellness.
Responsibilities
- Enhance community outreach and events
- Magnify CRCC’s voice and presence through online and offline channels
- Attend events, fairs, meetings as needed to raise awareness
- Work collaboratively with CRCC staff and Board Members
- Assist CRCC staff in collecting data around outreach efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills
- Excellent people skills with the ability to engage community members from all sectors of the community to provide and support recovery activities for Knox County
- Minimum of high school diploma/GED; college degree or relevant experience preferred
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; public speaking abilities
- Understanding of the complex issues facing community members in recovery, recovery supports, and harm reduction
- A creative yet practical mind
- Reliable transportation
- Working knowledge of Google, Teams, and Zoom
- Fosters a cooperative, respectful, and inclusive team environment aligned with the organization’s values
- Ability to work independently
- Part-time appointment
